AI inside the tools small businesses already use, a step forward for those running DuckDB in production and coding agents you can follow from your phone.
Claude for Small Business puts AI inside QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot and other tools
Anthropic launched Claude for Small Business, a package of connectors and ready-made workflows that works inside tools such as Intuit QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, Docusign, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. It includes 15 agentic workflows across finance, operations, sales, marketing, HR and customer service, such as planning payroll, closing the month and chasing unpaid invoices. Claude does the work and the owner approves before anything is sent, posted or paid.
AI reaches small and medium businesses through the systems they already use, without long implementation projects. For those with ERPs or in-house systems, the same model of connectors and human approval can be built to measure.

The Quack protocol lets DuckDB run as a server with multiple writers
DuckDB gained Quack, a protocol that lets instances talk to each other and run in a client-server setup, with several processes writing at the same time. Until now, since it runs inside the application's process, DuckDB did not handle several processes changing the same file well, as when telemetry collection feeds a dashboard. Quack uses HTTP and, according to the team, is fast for both bulk loads and small transactions.
DuckDB now covers production scenarios with continuous ingestion and concurrent queries, without home-made workarounds. For mid-sized analytics, it can be a simpler and cheaper alternative to a data warehouse.

Codex arrives in the ChatGPT app to follow coding agents from your phone
OpenAI brought Codex, used by more than 4 million people a week, to the ChatGPT mobile app, in preview. From the phone you can follow tasks running on a laptop or remote environments, answer the agent's questions, approve commands, review diffs and test results and start new work. Files, credentials and permissions stay on the machine where Codex runs, connected through a secure relay.
With agents working for hours, timely human review is what keeps the work moving. Teams can organize their approval routine so agents do not sit idle waiting for decisions.
