GitButler raises $17M to build what comes after Git

GitButler, from one of GitHub's cofounders, raised a $17 million Series A led by a16z. The founder argues that Git was built to send patches over mailing lists and that teams now teach swarms of agents to use that same tool, when the real challenge is organizing, reviewing and integrating changes. The first step is the GitButler CLI, in preview, which stacks branches, makes undoing changes easy and works in any existing Git project.

With agents producing more changes in parallel, the bottleneck moves to review and integration. Teams can revisit their branching and review flow before it becomes the slow point of delivery.

Five Git commands to diagnose a system before reading the code

An article shows how to use Git history to assess a new codebase before opening a single file. The commands list the files that changed most in the last year, how commits are concentrated by person, which reveals dependence on a few developers, and the files tied to bug fixes. Files that show up both among the most changed and the most buggy are, according to the author, the project's biggest risk.

Before taking over, modernizing or outsourcing the maintenance of a system, this quick diagnosis shows where the weak spots are and helps estimate effort more realistically. It is a good first step in any technical assessment.

Anthropic expands capacity with Google and Broadcom and passes a thousand large customers

Anthropic signed an agreement with Google and Broadcom for multiple gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity, starting in 2027. According to the company, run-rate revenue passed $30 billion, up from about $9 billion at the end of 2025, and the number of business customers spending more than $1 million a year exceeded a thousand, double the figure from two months earlier. Anthropic says Claude is the only frontier model available on all three largest clouds: AWS, Google Cloud and Azure.

The numbers show that AI adoption in companies has moved past testing into recurring spend. For those just starting, availability on the three big clouds makes it easier to use AI within the infrastructure and contracts the company already has.
